New Endoscopy Center Opening in Anderson

Cincinnati GI will be opening a new Endoscopy Center and office in Anderson on Beechmont Avenue. The new facility will house an Endoscopy Center and doctor’s offices on the ground floor and Cincinnati GI will be moving our office from Clough Pike to the new facility as well. The new facility is just a few minutes from Mercy Anderson Hospital and is conveniently surrounded by businesses and restaurants. A facility of this kind offers many advantages for both the doctors and the patients. Freestanding endoscopy centers can be more cost effective for patients and offer easier access. Also, the staff is specialized in Endoscopic care because it is the only type of care they are providing on a daily basis. Finally, it will cut down on the travel time for the physicians because they can go from performing procedures to treating patients in the office without having to leave the building. Construction for the building is underway and it is expected to be completed near the end of 2016.

Cincinnati GI welcomes Shannon Horvath, Nurse Practitioner, to our team

Cincinnati GI is glad to welcome Shannon Horvath as our new Nurse Practitioner for Dr. David Hess and Dr. Stephen Ionna. Shannon has 13 years of experience in the GI field, working with Dr. Hess and Ionna as a Registered Nurse at Endoscopy Center West and The Christ Hospital in their endoscopy unit. Also, she worked as a nurse for Cincinnati GI, so when she completed her training as a Nurse Practitioner it was a perfect fit to have her join the staff as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. She is focused on providing individual care to every patient she sees. In this electronic world we live in, medical treatment has advanced but it is not a substitute for the one on one patient care that she will be providing.

New Westside Office Location

A new Westside office location has been added to CGI. Drs. David Hess and Mark Manegold are seeing patients at the brand new Mercy West Hospital in the medical office building conveniently located on the campus.  You may schedule visits for either of these physicians by calling 513-233-4100.

Cincinnati GI Transitions to Electronic Health Records
To improve your quality of care at Cincinnati GI, we are currently making the transition to Electronic Health Records, EHR. EHR is known to improve patient care by reducing medical errors by means of improving accuracy and clarity of medical records. It keeps health information more accessible, which helps reduce duplications of tests and delays in treatments.
In our effort to continue to bring you the best GI care possible, we ask for your patience and understanding if you experience any delays on the phone or any prolonged wait times with your doctor in the office.

Thank you.

The Endoscopy Center is Re-Accredited

The Endoscopy Center at the Professional Center of Norwood has been re-accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). It received the highest level of accreditation- 3 years. Accreditation distinguishes this center from many other outpatient facilities by providing a safe work environment and the highest quality of care to its patients.

“We believe our patients deserve the best”, states Judy Lyall, RN the Director of Nursing. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that the AAAHC, an independent, not for profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means that we as an organization care enough about our patients to strive for the highest care possible”.

Ambulatory care facilities seeking accreditation by the AAAHC undergo an extensive self assessment and on site survey by the Association’s expert surveyors comprised of volunteer physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in the ambulatory health care.

Digestive Health Network is now Cincinnati GI !!

Why change the name now?
Patients continue to increase their use of the internet to research providers and health information. Based upon our most recent patient satisfaction survey results, nearly 50% of our patients use the internet to research medical issues. It is very difficult to "find" the Digestive Health Network using current search engines, as our name doesn't match up with common search parameters most often used in searching for a GI provider in Cincinnati.

Why Cincinnati GI?
It is short, easy to say, and most importantly clearly identifies who we are and what we do. Patients seeking a GI provider in the Cincinnati region will easily find us via the internet and all common search engines.

What about our print material and signage?
We will phase in the new name and replace our printed materials over the next 30 to 60 days.
